Soccer Themed Workshops
Keen to convey the basic message that “if you work hard you will achieve”, Rob has facilitated soccer-themed workshops as an alternative to traditional physical education, at schools and within further education. His input has been instrumental in motivating children and young people, particularly where there are issues with regard to low or poor attendance levels. Rob is particularly keen to support children and young people where attendance and/or exclusion present as an issue and keen to include and incorporate the socially disengaged, the marginalized or the disenfranchised.
With Rob’s support and input into these programmes he has aided communication by providing an outlet for children and young people to express themselves. This has helped to develop children and young people’s self-esteem, whilst also increasing their personal worth.
Rob has a strong concept of teamwork, and working in partnership to realise the aim of evoking positive change.
An education - based element can also be incorporated into the programmes. Rob has previously lent his support to racism campaigns, and has also championed causes with regard to drugs awareness and education including show racism the red card.
Rob has a wealth of experience of coaching soccer to young people in a variety of environments including youth offender centres and institutions, within Prisons, in secure, and residential units and has also performed demonstrations for adult offenders, and facilitated training on their behalf.
