Rob in Barbados

The youngsters taking part in a soccer clinic at the Police training ground in Weymouth Barbados, had the pleasure of a surprise visit from Soccer skills legend Rob Walters to show them some of his ball skills and put them through their paces.

Rob was invited by the Barbados Football Association to attend the ground in Weymouth to hold a soccer skills clinic over a few days which was attended by youths from four junior soccer programme’s.

Administrative Officer of the BFA, Patrick Beckles said that the BFA was appreciative to Rob for offering his time to the young footballers.

“We are just happy and delighted that the youngsters have been given this opportunity” said Beckles. “For these youngsters to be exposed to these kind of skills at this stage in their development, this is an opportunity that you must seize”.

Rob commented, “This group that I have been with today have a lot of talent and with regular practice they can go a long way, especially certain individuals amongst them”

Patrick asked Rob the question regarding why South American players seemingly are superior in technique to the rest of the world?

Rob,s answer was simple “The more you practice the better your technique and control becomes, and the better those become, the better you are able to play football”.
